From enemy to frenemy: Huawei may ‘solve’ Apple’s 5G problems
NEW DELHI: Apple may find an unlikely ally in Huawei. According to reports, the Chinese company may supply Apple 5G chips. According to a report in Engadget, Huawei is now “open” to selling its 5G Balong 5000 chipsets to Apple. In fact, Apple is the only company Huawei intends to sell its chips too.
Huawei is not a company known for its chip business. And the company reportedly said earlier this year that Balong chips are largely intended for the company’s smart and IoT products. With this, Huawei may extend an olive branch to its arch rival Apple. In fact, last year Huawei displaced Apple from no. 2 position in the global smartphone market. In the last quarter too, the company continued to hold its second position.
Also, the speculation, if comes true, may help Apple solve its 5G troubles.
