Free WiFi at 415 Railway Stations

Google announced that it will discontinue its Station WiFi program in India this year and is currently working with its partners like RailTel to help with the transition of existing sites. However, RailTel has said that it will continue to provide free WiFi service at over 5,600 railway stations across the country including the 415 stations that were powered by Google’s infrastructure. It has already roped in a number of partners for providing free WiFi at over 5,600 stations across the country.

RailTel in a statement said that the PSU entered into a 5 years contract with Google for setting up WiFi at 415 stations only and the contract is going to expire soon. RailTel said that it started providing free WiFi at Railway stations and Google was our technology partner for the 415 A1, A, C category stations only.
