Former Google India interim head Vikas Agnihotri set to join SoftBank

Bengaluru / New Delhi: Vikas Agnihotri, until recently the interim head of Google India, has joined Japanese investment major SoftBank as its first operating partner in India.

In a statement sent out by the Tokyo-headquartered investor, late on Thursday, and after ET reached out to it seeking confirmation of the appointment, said Agnihotri will “foster closer connections with the region’s technology ecosystem and the SBIA’s global network.”

Earlier, when contacted by ET over the telephone, Agnihotri who was officially designated managing director for sales at Google India, did not get into the specifics of his new assignment. “Wait till tomorrow,” he said.
