For faster detection of spoofing bid, Aadhaar now comes with 2-layer authentication

NEW DELHI: The Unique Identification Authority of India has rolled out a new security mechanism for Aadhaar authentication that is meant to deal with faster detection of spoofing attempts.

While there have been very few instances, the UIDAI has implemented a two-layer authentication system to ensure that the originality of the fingerprints is captured in a more foolproof manner. The artificial intelligence-based security mechanism, which was developed in-house, captures both the fingerprint image and finger minutia, or the major features of a fingerprint image.
