Finnish telco Elisa profit marginally higher as roaming fees decline
Finnish telecom service provider Elisa reported on Friday an increase of 1% in underlying profit for the September quarter, as declining roaming revenues capped growth in several other businesses.
“Mobile service revenue has been negatively impacted as travel is still non-existent in practice. In the corporate business, uncertainty has increased,” Elisa said in a statement.
Elisa reported July-September earnings before taxes, depreciation and amortisations (EBITDA) of 180 million euros ($210.71 million), which matched analysts’ average forecast, according to Refinitiv data.
Profit at Elisa’s larger consumer business, however, rose 5%, helped by sales growth and efficiency improvements measures.
