Fiberised networks deliver reliable backhaul bandwidth: Taipa’s Dua

The increase in telecom infrastructure would depend upon data growth, launch of next generation technology and tariff structure, and nearly 35% of the towers in India are fiberised today, said Tower and Infrastructure Providers Association (Taipa) director-general Tilak Raj Dua. In an interaction with ETTelecom, Dua talks about the current state of digital infrastructure, and fibre-based backhaul. Edited excerpts.

What is the current tower/BTS base in India? How much growth is expected by the end of (Dec) 2021?
