Fans set to miss key sports events on OTT

KOLKATA: At least three broadcasters are set to stop live streaming of events on their OTT platforms, including live news broadcast and streaming of sports, from August 30. This means that these events, which include high profile cricket and football matches under IPL, English Premier League and La Liga and some other live programmes which could be viewed earlier on apps, will now only be available on cable TV channels subscribed either through MSOs or DTH services and takes away the option of viewing them through broadband services on smart TVs and on phones.
