Facebook ‘wanting’ you to see bikini photos of your female friends? You’re not the only one

In a week when a UK parliamentary committee dubbed Facebook “a digital gangster”, a creepy and sexist ‘problem’ has been reported by users. Apparently, when users who – in Facebook’s search bar – type photos they immediately get “photos of my female friends” as an auto suggestion. While this was problematic – and sexist – things get a bit creepier when you actually select that option (without actually pressing enter). As soon as you hover on the “photos on female friends” option, the next few suggestions are all about “photos of female friends in bikini” or “photos of female friends at the beach.”
Several news outlets had reported this issue which was pointed out by a lot of users across the globe. Gadgets Now also verified this by searching and these were the creepy options that were automatically suggested by Facebook.
