Facebook stalking you? Stop it now

QFacebook seems to know whenever I buy something and is actually learning my shopping habits. Is there a way to stop this?

You probably became aware of this because of the advertisements being shown on your timeline. Facebook has tied up with several retail stores to share shopping habits, demographic data and contact information for targeted ad campaigns. Luckily, you can stop this by tweaking Facebook’s settings. However, this is buried quite deep inside.

Open the app on your phone and tap on the hamburger menu on the top right. Go to Settings & Privacy—Privacy Shortcuts. Under Ad Preferences tap on “See your ad settings”. Press on “Ads based on data from partners”.
