Facebook may bring this Instagram feature to Messenger

Keep your friends close and your close friends closer seems to be the motto of Facebook with its new feature. According to a report by Techcrunch, the social media giant is working on a feature called Favourites. The feature will allow users to mark certain friends as Favourites with whom they can send Stories or any camera-based posts. This feature will only be available in Messenger.
A Facebook spokesperson confirmed to Techcrunch that this is an “early exploration of the micro sharing opportunity.” As of now the feature isn’t being tested internally but is still in prototype stages. The company spokesperson also told Techcrunch that “the Favourites feature as a type of shortcut for sharing to a specific set of people.”
The feature seems to be heavily influenced by something called ‘Close Friends’ on Instagram.
