‘Facebook friend’ morphs doctor’s photos, extorts 50,000 from him

Bengaluru: A 56-year-old doctor from the city lost Rs 50,000 after he allegedly shared his photos with a woman who befriended him on Facebook.

The Sadashivanagar resident told police that a woman, who identified herself as Neha Patel, befriended him on July 19 and after winning his confidence, collected some of his pictures.

Later, the woman morphed the photos, showing the doctor in an inappropriate way and threatened to upload them on social media and also send them to his contacts. The doctor transferred Rs 50,000 to the account number provided by the woman.
