Every pole, bus shelter in India a potential 5G carrier

As India readies to roll out the 5G network across the country, an intensive exercise to map every single electric pole, traffic light, bus terminal and bus shelter besides each government building (central, state or public sector-owned) across states is being wrapped up.

Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat are learnt to have nearly completed the exercise, while several other states are being nudged by the Centre to head to the finishing line, officials in the know told ET.
