Bharti Enterprises chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal reiterated that India’s telecom industry should have at least three operators, adding that it remains to be seen whether state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will emerge as a stronger third operator, or Vodafone Idea will also have a role to play. In an interaction with ET’s Danish Khan & Kiran Rathee at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2023 (MWC23), Mittal discusses investments into 5G networks and monetisation, need for tariff hikes, and more.
