ETTelecom Interviews: Ericsson CEO on 6G hype, Indian 5G journey, future strategy and more

Ericsson said that profitable telecom operators are better for vendors and termed India’s industry structure “sound”. The Swedish telecom vendor has also established 6G teams in India but cautioned against overhyping the 6G technology, saying that it will be more of an evolution of 5G with a not-so-big investment cycle. In an exclusive interaction with ET’s Danish Khan, Börje Ekholm, president and chief executive, Ericsson talked about the monetisation journey of Airtel and Jio and the vendor’s global strategy to become a more profitable company.
