Indian telecom players have been eyeing Open RAN technology for a few years. Open RAN has the potential to transform the telecom sector and enable a new operating model which will allow mobile operators to transform the way networks are built, deployed and operated. For Indian operators, the cost to switch to modern network technologies with Open RAN, cloud and automation is a significant investment but will be worth it, says Narendra Narayana, CEO & President, Rakuten Symphony India in an interview with ETTelecom’s Mansi Taneja.
