Shiv Nadar, industrialist, and philanthropist is also among the country’s earliest technology entrepreneurs. A pioneer of the country’s “startup and innovation” culture he was the first to introduce microcomputers way back in 1978, about the time when Apple was launched in the US. He later cofounded HCLTech, which is now the country’s third-largest IT services company. Nadar, who has a net worth of $28 billion, is positioned at 46 in the Hurun Global Rich list, and fourth among Indian peers.
