#ETIMC: Need to create secure & trustworthy telecom networks post pandemic, say Airtel, Vodafone Idea

NEW DELHI: The pandemic has accelerated the process of digital transformation and convergence especially in the telecom sector but has brought upon the need for secure and trustworthy networks like never before.

“Digital transformation and convergence, if I may use this word convergence, are inevitable. It’s not a matter of choice anymore. And that is where the world is headed. The whole advent from 2G to 3G and now to 4G. 5G will take it to the next level. And we haven’t even reached 6G. But 5G will be the true stack, there will be a reliance on IoT-based technology. So the first and foremost thing is that convergence brings across a lot of good transformation,” Manish Tiwari, Senior VP and CISO, Bharti Airtel said during a panel discussion on Deploying Trustworthy Networks in the India Mobile Conclave 2021 organised by ETTelecom.
