#ETDigitalTelcoSummit: India’s telecom industry not in ‘good health’: Bharti Vice-Chairman Akhil Gupta

NEW DELHI: The Indian telecom industry is expected to invest billions of dollars in their digital infrastructure footprint even as the health of the industry is not in a “good shape”, said a senior executive of Bharti Enterprises Friday.

“Today, the health of the telecom industry, per se, is not in a good shape. If we want to make it their digital economy, we want massive investments. For instance, the expected investment is expected to be at least $15 to $20 billion a year in the entire telecom network, including the digital infrastructure. If that is to be done, the sector ought to be financially healthy,” said Bharti Enterprises Vice-Chairman Akhil Gupta.
