Ericsson says to lead ‘industrialisation of Open RAN’

NEW DELHI: Ericsson will introduce compatibility for open fronthaul in its Cloud Radio Access Network (RAN) and radio portfolios, as the Swedish telecom gear maker Monday underlined its commitment to “lead the industrialisation of Open RAN”.

Ericsson said it worked together with the industry through the O-RAN Alliance to reach “critical milestones” towards defining the next generation open fronthaul interface required to bring performance at scale to Open RAN.
