Ericsson bags seven-year 5G RAN deal from Kazakhstan’s Kcell
NEW DELHI: Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson has bagged a seven-year 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) deal from Kazakhstan-based telecom operator, Kcell, under an extended partnership.
Both companies have agreed to deploy Ericsson’s 5G technology across at least 50% of the country’s territory, the gear maker said in a statement. Ericsson will be a key partner for Kcell’s 5G deployment in key regions including Almaty, Shymkent, and other areas
“One of the innovative aspects of this collaboration is the implementation of a single RAN approach for the 5G deployment,” Ericsson said. The single RAN approach, it added, involves the seamless integration of 5G into the existing telecom infrastructure.
