Ericsson bags nationwide 5G network deal from Malaysia’s Digital Nasional Berhad

NEW DELHI: Swedens’s telecoms gear maker Ericsson has inked a 10-year partnership with Malaysian telecoms company Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) to deploy a nationwide 5G network.

DNB’s partnership with Ericsson covers Ericsson Radio System products and solutions, including Ericsson Spectrum Sharing software, cloud-native 5G Core, and 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) nationwide.

Ericsson will also supply its Managed Services offering, Ericsson Operations Engine.

Additionally, the telecoms gear company will provide its operational support systems (OSS) and business support systems (BSS) solutions to the telco.

DNB aims to launch Malaysia’s first 5G network in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Cyberjaya in the initial phase.
