Ericsson bags 5G RAN deal from Deutsche Telekom

NEW DELHI: Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson on Wednesday said it has been selected by European telecoms operator Deutsche Telekom to deploy the service provider’s 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) across Germany.

The multi-year deal will see the upgradation of mobile sites to the latest 5G technology over the coming years using Ericsson Radio System products and solutions.

The 5G deal is in addition to ta multi-RAN agreement as the telecoms operator takes the next step following the joint modernizations of its 2G, 3G, and 4G networks over the past two years.
