Encryption comes to group RCS conversations on Google Messages

Google has announced that all RCS conversations – one-to-one and group chats – are now end-to-end encrypted. The company also said that the encryption will be enabled by default for new and existing users. This means that messages will be private from Google and the carriers.

“RCS is the modern industry standard for dynamic and secure messaging. And now, all of your RCS conversations in Messages by Google are end-to-end encrypted, including group chats, which keeps them private between you and the people you’re messaging,” Google announced in a support page.
