EMF ill effects

While appearing before the Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests examining the issue of “e-waste and e-radiation”, the secretary DoT did not disclose the reports by an independent agency, BioInitiative Working Group.

In its various reports, in 2007, 2012 and mid-term review between 2012 and 2014, on the basis of scientific evidences the group has consistently been claiming of increased health risks due to use of mobile phone even at much lower Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of 1.6 Watt/gm over 1 gram of tissue, which DoT claims as the most stringent norm in the world. These reports by BioInitiative are based on various studies conducted across the world at different times.
