Emerging technologies can impact society: IT Secy

Emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain have the potential to impact society and e-governance delivery system in a big way, said Vinod P Kavle, Secretary, Information Technology, Chandigarh, during a conference on emerging technologies here today.

The conference was organised by Society for Promotion of IT in Chandigarh (SPIC) under the aegis of the Department of IT, Chandigarh Administration, and IxDA, Chandigarh.

Cognitive technologies such as AI and deep learning could eventually revolutionise every facet of government operations, Kavle said and added that a blockchain-based digital solution in government could protect data, streamline processes and reduce fraud, waste and abuse while simultaneously increasing trust, and accountability.
