Elon Musk’s Starlink still taking preorder money despite India’s recent order; consumer forum demands legal action

NEW DELHI: Elon Musk’s Starlink is still taking pre-orders for its upcoming satellite-based internet service in India despite the Indian government’s recent order, which barred it from doing so.

The company is still taking pre-orders for the service for various locations across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Pune, as per its official website. Starlink’s India head Sanjay didn’t offer comments on the issue.

The Indian government last week advised people against subscribing to Starlink Internet Services, a division of billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX aerospace company, as it does not have a licence to operate in the country.
