Elderly doc cheated for Rs 2 crores, Pune cops take custody of four suspects from Agra

THE PUNE City Cyber Crime Cell has taken custody of a 27-year-old suspect in a case in which a 60-year-old doctor from Pune was cheated to the tune of Rs two crores on pretext of giving him insurance policies with high return. The suspect was in the custody of Agra police after his arrest by them in a cyber crime.

In 2021, the Cyber crime cell of Pune city police registered a case in which a 60-year-old well known doctor in Pune was cheated for Rs 2.01 crores between 2013 and 2021. The suspects who were in contact with him for eight years, kept taking money from him on the pretext of giving him various insurance policies with very high returns and other lucrative offers.
