Ecommerce cos Reliance Retail, Future Group get into crisis management mode to manage ground-level operations

Kolkata: Top bosses at retail and ecommerce companies including Reliance Retail, Future Group, Spencer’s Retail, Nature’s Basket, BigBasket and Grofers have got into a crisis management mode to manage ground-level operations, right from filling empty store racks, visiting warehouses and coordinating with truckers for movement of goods to taking customer orders, and maintaining health and sanitisation in stores.

Big Bazaar chief executive Sadashiv Nayak said every senior executive at the Future Group-owned supermarket chain works in the store for 5-6 hours per day to ensure smooth operations and motivate the staff. Nayak himself is helping fill empty racks in Mumbai. At Reliance Retail, CEO (grocery) Damodar Mall visits multiple stores every day.
