NEW DELHI: Former telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan, a day after the completion of her tenure suggested three key focus areas for the telecom industry and government to work upon which include ease of doing business, Right of Way (RoW) rules and domestic manufacturing.
She emphasized that the local startups need to be encouraged to promote domestic manufacturing and RoW needs to be eased for tower infrastructure to be rolled out quickly.
Talking to ETTelecom about the high points in the telecom industry, Sundararajan said, “we brought out a forward looking National Digital Communication Policy (NDCP) and a national frequency allocation plan while we could also accelerate Bharatnet project. It was a productive period!”
