E-commerce firms in a tizzy as Karnataka restricts shipping of non-essential goods

E-commerce platforms are in a tizzy after the Karnataka government late on Sunday restricted them from shipping non-essential goods, disrupting deliveries to customers in Bengaluru on Monday.

In some areas of the city, policemen interpreted the revised notification to mean that only delivery of food and grocery items were to be allowed. This led to scores of delivery personnel being reprimanded, which led to frantic calls to the police control room.
