Drop ‘manipulated’ tag from toolkit tweets: Centre to Twitter

The controversy around the alleged Covid-19 toolkit of the Congress raged on Friday with the Centre asking Twitter to drop “manipulated media” label from BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra’s post that accused the Congress research department of developing a toolkit to defame India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over pandemic management and subsequent retweets of the said post by some ministers and leaders.

The Ministry of Electronics and IT has written to Twitter demanding that the label be withdrawn as the case and the veracity of the BJP claims and counter claims is still under investigation.
