Draft Spacecom Policy 2020

On October 15, 2020, Department of Space (DOS) released a “Draft Space Based Communication Policy of India-2020 (Spacecom Policy-2020) and draft Norms, Guidelines and Procedures for implementation of Spacecom Policy-2020 (Spacecom NGP-2020)” for public consultation. The last date specified for feedback was November 4, 2020.

The draft policy is in line with government’s direction to open up the space sector for private players and to govern the commercial use of orbital slots, satellites, and ground stations for communication needs.
