DoT raises telecom PLI incentive by 1%, adds more equipment & extends scheme by 1-year

New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has extended the tenure of the Rs 12,195 crore production-linked incentive scheme for telecom and networking equipment by one year, and also raised the incentive rate by an additional 1% to attract manufacturers.

The DoT has also included design-led manufacturing to the scheme, allocating the balance of Rs 4,000 crore from the PLI fund to encourage 5G design-led manufacturing in India. Furthermore, the telecom department has added 11 new products to the list of telecom and networking equipment that can be manufactured under the scheme.
