Disney+ to debut in India on March 29

NEW DELHI: Disney+, the video streaming service from The Walt Disney Company (Disney) will launch in India on March 29, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer Bob Iger said on Tuesday during the company’s first quarter result webcast. The service, which launched in U.S., Canada and the Netherlands on November 12, 2019 will be made available in India through Hotstar, and is likely to be called Disney+Hotstar in the country.

Hotstar’s VIP/Premium service which is the subscription based video on demand service from the platform, is likely to be rebranded and called Disney+Hotstar.
