Digital Personal Data Protection Bill to go on Lok Sabha floor this monsoon session

The government has listed the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Bill for passage and consideration in the Lok Sabha, according to an official notification. This will be the government’s second attempt at getting a privacy bill passed in the Parliament.

An earlier version of the privacy bill, called the Personal Data Protection Bill, was withdrawn last year in August by the union minister of electronics and information technology Ashwini Vaishnaw.
