Digital India 2 to take broadband to doorsteps in rural India: Prasad

NEW DELHI: Telecom and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said that under Digital India 2, the government would take broadband to the doorsteps in rural India through a policy push and entrepreneurship ecosystem, while highlighting that the government will work proactively to make India an export hub for electronics products.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Prasad urged Indian IT companies and its apex software body Nasscom to participate in creation of ‘Digital Villages’ in the country, and supplement the government’s efforts in the digital literacy movement.
