Detel eyeing 20% share in feature phone market with aggressive offline expansion

NEW DELHI: Indian feature phone player Detel is targeting to capture market share of 20% in the feature phone market by the end of March 2020 where it currently holds about 10% share. The company is going aggressive on offline expansion in tier 2 and tier 3 cities by collaborating with retail chains.

“We are targeting tier 2 and tier 3 markets with retail chains like Walmart, Max Spar, Metro Cash & Carry, Spencer, Reliance Retail etc. We are also trying to collaborate with as many offline retailers as possible to strengthen our foothold in the offline market,” Yogesh Bhatia, MD, Detel told ET.
