Department of Telecommunications further relaxes BPO guidelines for work-from-home

The government has further eased guidelines for voice-based business process outsourcing (BPO) companies, allowing people to work from anywhere in the country and doing away with the need to maintain separate infrastructure for local and international businesses.

The government has removed any distinction between domestic and international other service providers (OSPs), or voice BPOs, telecom and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Wednesday.
