Demand to pick up in second half of 2020: Xiaomi
NEW DELHI: Xiaomi India head Manu Jain has said that there may be an anti-China sentiment among people at play, but expects things to normalise over time and doesn’t see any meaningful impact on its business, with smartphone demand expected to pick up only in the second half of 2020. “People are angry and upset and would want to blame someone. Over a period of time, they will understand and will not take it out against any particular company… This will not impact the business in any meaningful way,” Jain said.
He said Xiaomi India was a local company by all parameters, with local executives at the leadership level. “We act like an Indian company since we have local productions. Data is stored in India as well. We have been trying to build a truly local company.” He expects demand for smartphones to only pick up in the second half of 2020.
