Delhi-NCR: Think before you click on that e-challan link!

NEW DELHI: Next time you get a text message asking you to pay traffic challan online, watch out before making the payment. Dozens of people in Delhi-NCR are receiving suspicious messages from cybercrooks and are falling prey to this scam.

Officials said that the text messages resemble e-challans notification sent by the traffic police, containing a malicious link. “Clicking on the link leaves your phone vulnerable to hackers… It also directs you to a fake e-challan website that asks you to put in your banking and personal information,” an officer added.
