Delhi HC seeks Google’s stand on ‘de-indexation’ of articles against doctor in 1999 case

While hearing a doctor’s plea seeking the removal of articles in a journal published against him in 1999 pertaining to a criminal case, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked Google whether “de-indexation” of these articles can be done so that when his name is searched it doesn’t show up.

After hearing the parties, a single judge bench of Justice Prathiba Singh observed, “In this day and age, you can’t say that false complaints are not filed against people… Just imagine the kind of harassment that can be caused on a daily basis”.
