Delhi government to soon start impounding bike taxis: Official
The Delhi government will soon start impounding bike taxis if they continue to operate in the city defying a ban that was upheld by the Supreme Court, a top state official told ET on Tuesday.
Delhi government’s principal secretary (transport) Ashish Kundra said notices will soon be sent out to aggregators directing them to comply with the ruling. “Bike taxis will be impounded if they do not comply with the Supreme Court ruling,” he said.
The Supreme Court on Monday stayed a Delhi High Court order that had allowed Uber, Rapido, Ola and other two-wheeler taxis to operate in New Delhi. The top court’s order restored a ban imposed on such services by the Delhi government.
