Deepa Tyagi takes over as interim TEC chief

NEW DELHI: Deepa Tyagi has taken over as an interim top official of the Telecommunication Engineering Centre, a testing and certification agency of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

Following the retirement of Radha Mohan Chaturvedi on Tuesday, Tyagi, working as deputy director-general has been given an additional charge as senior deputy director-general at the engineering centre in the absence of a full-time official.

The position holds significance as India has already started mandatory testing of telecom products and equipment in a phased manner, and have strategic plans to expand the existing testing labs or centres.
