Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is rapidly emerging as the preferred payment mode for Indian consumers for both in-store shopping and peer-to-peer transactions, relegating debit cards to a secondary role.
The most notable trend is the rapid rise of ecommerce, which is accelerating the decline of debit cards as a mode of payment for online transactions.
