Cybercrime cases targeting senior citizens on rise in Delhi
NEW DELHI: In August this year, three bike-borne men ambushed Mohan Lal Chhabra, a 74-year-old man going for his physiotherapy session in Sagarpur, stabbed him repeatedly and fled with his gold ornaments and cash as he collapsed and died. Chhabra was one of the 14 senior citizens who have been murdered till this year.
Delhi Police data shows that 63 cases of crime against the elderly were reported in the city last year between January and September while 85 cases have been reported in the corresponding period this year – a rise of 35%.
