Cyber fraud: Police caution online shoppers

The Commissionerate police on Wednesday released a video advising people to remain alert so that they are not trapped by cyber fraudsters during this festive season.

City DCP Prateek Singh said that as the festive season is round the corner, it is natural for people to go shopping. People usually prefer to buy durable consumer goods, household appliances, ornaments and dress materials during the festivals.

Now, online shopping has become more popular. Taking advantage of the situation, cyber frauds are applying various tricks to dupe online shoppers. Besides, cash transactions, there are digital payments which were targeted by cybercriminals recently, said Singh.
