Cyber crooks dupe advocate of ₹6L

Kolkata: KP cyber cell has arrested three persons for cheating an advocate, a resident of APC Roy Road, offering fake high returns and expensive gifts via fake Facebook profiles. Sayan Chandra Das (20), Sk Ashim Ali (23) and Anup Malakar (23), all from Jetia in North 24 Parganas, duped the victim of Rs 6 lakh.

The cyber cell has also arrested a resident of Indore in MP, Chakresh Patel, who conned a Baghajatin woman out of Rs 3.5 lakh by promising online jobs related to YouTube and OTT content. The accused ran a nationwide operation, cops said. Accused in both cases relied on social media manipulation to target victims.
