Cyber crime awareness programme organised in Kulgam

Kulgam, May 6: In order to make the general public aware about cyber crime, Police in Kulgam today organised a cyber awareness cum cyber jagrukta programme at Police Station Qaimoh. The programme was attended by citizens of Redwani, Khudwani, Qaimoh, Wanpoh and its adjacent areas.

The main motive behind conducting such a programme is to provide awareness about cyber frauds to the general public particularly students. The officer briefed the participants about various types of cyber threats, activities viz identity theft, credit card fraud, data stealing, cyber stalking, humiliation of girls, phishing etc. The officer also advised the participants, especially students, to be aware while surfing the internet and not to fall prey to cyber criminals.
