Crypto startup Vauld raises $25 million from Peter Thiel-founded VC firm
CHENNAI: Crypto platform Vauld has raised $25 million in a Series A funding round led by Silicon Valley investor Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures. Pantera Capital, Coinbase Ventures, CMT Digital, Gumi Cryptos, Robert Leshner, Cadenza Capital and others also participated in the round.
The funding will be used to support the company’s global growth and licensing as well as expand its retail crypto banking and investing platform. Vauld will also leverage the capital to build out its team, aiming at filling at least a hundred new roles.
Vauld has built an onramp (a way to convert fiat money into cryptocurrencies) for individuals around the world to access capital as well as grow their wealth through lending and trading in cryptocurrencies.
