Credential thefts, social attacks accounted for over 67% data breaches: Verizon

NEW DELHI: Credential theft and social attacks such as phishing and business email related compromises led to over 67% breaches prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, a trend that still continues, said a report by American telecoms company Verizon on Wednesday.

The study which was conducted between March-June 2020 period analyzed 474 data breaches, of which 36 breaches were identified as being directly related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
